In the early 1970s, the giallo genre virtually exploded, not least due to the huge success of Dario Argento's directorial debut L'UCCELLO DALLE PIUME DI CRISTALLO (THE BIRD WITH THE CRYSTAL PLUMAGE). A large number of titles were produced in a short space of time, including numerous classics and many small and obscure films, some of which have almost been forgotten today. It is to these films, or more precisely to their posters, that we turn our attention in GIALLO MOVIES POSTERS Volume 2: 1970 - 1971.

The project: The story behind GIALLO MOVIE POSTERS
In autumn 2024, the time has come - we are publishing the first volume of GIALLO MOVIE POSTERS! This project is an absolute labour of love with a rather bumpy genesis. The idea is already a few years old and was initially rejected because the realisation seemed too complex, expensive and difficult.
Last year we came up with the idea of starting the project in a slightly stripped down version, but after initial testing we rejected this 'stripped down' version as it would not have met our own requirements. So we started again from scratch... [read more >>>]
The Giallo-database
When we started working on GIALLO MOVIE POSTERS, the first thing we did was to program a small database application and fill it with all the information we needed to create the books. Now this database is available to everyone and completely free.
There are also various filtering and sorting options, so you can tailor the results to your own personal „Giallo taste“!
Sale and purchase of original (giallo) movie posters
To ensure the best possible quality of the illustrations in our books and magazines, we regularly buy original film posters. We have even bought hundreds of posters for our Giallo book series, most of which we offer for sale again for reasons of space and cost.
At the same time, we are regularly on the lookout for posters, lobby cards and campaign books for gialli, horror and exploitation films from the 50s to the 80s. If you would like to sell or trade any promotional material, please send us a short e-mail.

The GIALLO MOVIE POSTER books are neither our first nor our only publication. In 2009 we launched our fanzine/magazine CREEPY*IMAGES, which focuses on rare and hard to find movie posters and lobby cards from horror and exploitation films from the 1950s to the 1980s.
