In the early 1970s, the giallo genre exploded, not least due to the huge success of Dario Argento‘s directorial debut, L‘UCCELLO DALLE PIUME DI CRISTALLO(THE BIRD WITH THE CRYSTAL PLUMAGE). A large number of titles were produced in a short space of time, including many classics such as Sergio Martino‘s LO STRANO VIZIO DELLA SIGNORA WARDH (THE STRANGE VICE OF MRS. WARDH) and LA CODA DELLO SCORPIONE (THE CASE OF THE SCORPION‘S TAIL), Lucio Fulci‘sUNA LUCERTOLA CON LA PELLE DI DONNA (A LIZARD IN A WOMAN‘S SKIN), Mario Bava‘s ECOLOGIA DEL DELITTO (BAY OF BLOOD) and Dario Argento‘s ‘Animal Trilogy’, which includes the aforementioned L‘UCCELLO DALLE PIUME DI CRISTALLO as well as IL GATTO A NOVE CODE (THE CAT O‘ NINE TAILS) and 4 MOSCHE DI VELLUTO GRIGIO (FOUR FLIES ON GREY VELVET).

GIALLO MOVIE POSTERS Volume 2: 1970 - 1971 features nearly 300 rare posters from 49 films released between 1970 and 1971. As in the first volume, almost all of the posters were photographed or scanned by us and then professionally retouched and edited. Here, too, we have spared no expense or effort to present the posters in the best possible quality. Anyone who has read the first volume will be able to confirm that we make absolutely no compromises when it comes to the quality of the reproductions.

The first volume is all about the cinema posters from the early days of the giallo, covering the years 1961 to 1969 and thus important titles that laid the foundations for the genre, first and foremost of course Mario Bava's SEI DONNE PER L'ASSASSINO (BLOOD AND BLACK LACE), but also the first gialli by directors such as Lucio Fulci, Umberto Lenzi and Antonio Margheriti.

GIALLO MOVIE POSTERS VOLUME 1: 1969-1969 features more than 230 rarely seen images of rare posters for 56 films from 1961 to 1969, including genre classics such as Mario Bava's SEI DONNE PER L'ASSASSINO (BLOOD AND BLACK LACE), Antonio Margheriti's NUDE... SI MUORE (THE YOUNG, THE EVIL AND THE SAVAGE), Umberto Lenzi'sCOSÌ DOLCE... COSÌ PERVERSA (SO SWEET AND SO PERVERSE) and ORGASMO (PARANOIA), Romolo Guerrieri's IL DOLCE CORPO DI DEBORAH (SWEET BODY OF DEBORAH) and Lucio Fulci's UNA SULL'ALTRA (PERVERSION STORY).
But as promised, there will also be many more obscure and lesser-known films, such as L'ISOLA DELLE SVEDESI by Silvio Amadio or LE NOTTI DELLA VIOLENZA by Roberto Mauri. Even if the gialli of the 1960s were nowhere near as ‘knife murder-heavy’ as those of the 70s, there is a lot to discover here and much that has hardly ever been seen before (and probably never in this quality).
